1

You will enhance your creativity

Making music is an exceptionally creative activity, as the main goal is to interpret a piece that may have been composed over 200 years ago. In this process, you must analyse the score to understand its meaning and then bring it to life with your own creativity, while taking into account the composer’s original intentions.

Imagination and inspiration are essential to accomplish such a task.

2

You will gain self-confidence

Music lessons will help you build self-confidence, as you will need to make decisions. It is always deeply rewarding to hear what you have created.

At the beginning, your teacher will guide you, and little by little you will gain autonomy.

The process of learning a new piece of music is wonderful: you start from nothing, practise, improve, and eventually reap the rewards of your effort. The progress is captivating, and the certainty of receiving a reward after dedication undoubtedly strengthens your self-confidence and sense of fulfilment.

3
You will develop your memory further

You will learn movements that must be practised repeatedly, which trains your muscle memory. You will also acquire new vocabulary (that of music), thereby strengthening your lexical memory.

It is also recommended to play pieces from memory, as once you no longer need to look at the score, you can fully focus on the sound you are producing.

With challenging pieces, it can be extremely difficult to read and play at the same time. That is why it is essential to know the score by heart.

4

You will improve your social skills

Joining chamber music groups or taking part in duo courses is an excellent opportunity to develop your listening skills. Playing with others requires you to be far more aware of your surroundings. Small rhythmic irregularities that may be acceptable when playing alone become disruptive when performing in a group or duo.

You will learn to adjust your playing to others, thereby making your performance more precise.

It is simply a fantastic way to make progress.

5

You will discover and understand the world of music

Possessing a strong musical background is essential to deliver a high-quality performance.

Playing an instrument will therefore encourage you to broaden your knowledge and discover the wonderful world of music.

You will learn the language of music, including the structure of melody, rhythm, and harmony.

6

You will stay cognitively young

Playing a musical instrument requires simultaneous mental and motor processes involving different parts of the brain. You must remain focused and alert at all times, as any distraction can be problematic and affect your playing.

This exceptional multitasking exercise significantly delays age-related cognitive decline!

7

You will meet other adult amateurs who share the same passion

Making music can sometimes be a solitary activity, but by joining a community you have the great privilege of meeting other music enthusiasts. With them, you can share your experiences as an amateur musician and exchange ideas about concerts, CDs, books, and magazines.

When you take part in our events, you will quickly notice that many men and women play music for pleasure while also pursuing demanding careers.

8

You will play your favourite pieces

Isn’t it wonderful to be able to sit down and play your favourite pieces whenever you wish?

Instead of relying solely on the interpretations of others, you can now express yourself and add your personal touch to the pieces you love.

What a great joy!

9

You will reduce your stress

Playing music is an excellent way to relieve stress.

On the one hand, the complexity of the learning process forces you to concentrate fully and eliminate all other thoughts; on the other hand, playing an instrument can transport you into a world you could not otherwise enter.

Playing an instrument is, in a way, comparable to watching a captivating film. As soon as you begin, you enter another dimension that helps you forget all the problems of everyday life.

It helps you to relax and see things with greater calm.

It is even better than a spa!

10

You will encourage your children to play a musical instrument

All parents want to raise their children in the best possible way and give them the opportunity to develop a range of skills. It is widely known that learning a musical instrument is an essential part of education.

Being able to support them in this process, or even better, having the privilege of playing together with them, can only bring you great joy!
